WT Device Communication Protocol

Wireless Telematics is foremost an engineering firm where we developed a suite of wireless products that are paired with the echo web interface for interacting with the device. Our OEM developed products are for specific client applications or to interface with the clients existing equipment. Both the Wireless Telematics product suite and the OEM developed products can provide telemetry data directly to the client. For our enterprise clients who require the telemetry data we have created a simple device communication protocol to be used over the Internet.

The Wireless Telematics Device Communication Protocol (WTDC) is a set of Extensible Markup Language (XML) documents that provide a standard format to transfer data. It is designed to provide a simple framework in which to pass information to and from a Wireless Telematics capable wireless device.

The objectives of the protocol are to:

  • Provide a standard framework for customers to interact with their wireless devices
  • Support communication for any Wireless Telematics device
  • Send and receive any message regardless of device specific data type or protocol

Enterprises interested in using the WTDC protocol to communicate with the wireless devices and receive data must contact us directly to receive the protocol specification.
